PROGRAM
Unreal 5.4.4
PROCESS
Pre-Production:

What was our aim for the game? What did we want to accomplish? What was our visual aesthetic?

Created a paper map layout.

Got team input, final input, and plan for the first initial areas in the layout.

I created an island order plan.

Worked with the team to create island objectives.
Whiteboxing:

I picked up the landscape tool in Unreal and started to learn how it works.

My next step was making a basic Whitebox of the space with my fellow level designer.

Afterwords I created compositions shots within the Whitebox.
Asset Placement:

My next task was asset replacement in the level replacing the whitebox.

I created paths for the player to traverse.

Afterwords, I did playtests to see how the first pass was feeling from a player perspective.

I ran environmental scale checks to match the player.

Following this I adjusted assets to further meet our needs in the world.
Final Pass:

I did further playtesting to verify player scale, player travel length, objective placement and if the golden path was followed.

Next, I added more asset additions and deletions to fit the changes based on player feedback.

Then I worked on worked on landscape path, and bridge sizing and placement.

Finally, I added water materials and additional assets with my fellow team members.
